Empowering Young Athletes

We provide a unique platform for youth athletes aged U11 to U15, blending recreational fun with competitive spirit. Our leagues focus on sportsmanship, skill development, and teamwork, ensuring every player thrives in a supportive and safe environment.

Youth sports play a crucial role in the development of young athletes. Engaging in sports helps improve physical health, social skills, and emotional well-being.

KEY BENEFITS

  • Teamwork: Players learn to work together towards a common goal
  • Skill Development: Regular practice enhances player skills and confidence
  • Sportsmanship: Participants learn respect for opponents and officials

Building Character Through Sports

At MidWay Play, above all we teach our youth players sportsmanship. It is a vital aspect of youth sports, teaching players respect, integrity, and teamwork.

RESPECT: We encourage respect for teammates, opponents, and officials.
FAIR PLAY: We promote honesty and fairness in competition.
SUPPORT: We foster a supportive environment for all players.
RISK TAKING: We encourage our players to be confident and take risks on the field

Technical Development

Technical development at MidWay Play is a big focus. We want our players to play in a safe environment and have fun but we also want them to develop as players, not only character wise but technically as well.

To foster growth in young athletes and focus on skill development we hold regular structured training and practice, that follow a set sport specific curriculum. Not only does regular practice enhance player skills but it also breeds confidence, that ultimately helps with composure (widely considered by athletes to be the hardest mental skill to master in sports).

TRAINING TECHNIQUES

  • Drills: Implement drills that target specific skills
  • Feedback: Provide constructive feedback to encourage improvement
  • Game Situations: Simulate game scenarios during practice
  • Homework: provide sport related homework tasks for players to promote practicing outside of organized practice, thus improving technique but also building a healthy love for the game

Equal Playing Time

Equal playing time isn’t just something we promote – we stand by it.

If your daughter or son joins one of our leagues then we want to develop them as much as possible. That simply can’t happen if they are always on the bench.

All MidWay Play coaches are aware and enthusiastic about our minimum ~50% playing policy.
